We welcome Costa Rican and international practitioners from a range of healing modalities—including integrative, conventional, and traditional medicine—who are committed to ethical, community-centered care.

Important Requirements and Considerations

Costa Rica has specific laws about who is legally permitted to work directly with patients. This depends on your area of practice, credentials, and whether you are licensed to work in Costa Rica.

All healthcare professionals must submit current licensure and certification. Roles and scope of practice are determined case by case, based on both Costa Rican regulations and the needs of the community.

Non-Costa Rican practitioners may still contribute meaningfully through education, clinical support, wellness events, or co-facilitating with licensed providers.

Examples of Volunteer Roles:

  • Clinical consultations (when legally permitted)
  • Health education and prevention workshops
  • Integrative therapies during community wellness events
  • Community charlas (talks) and wellness outreach
