Our Team

Founder and Director
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Rachel graduated with a degree in Women’s Studies and Social Work. Working for many years in the nonprofit world in Oregon, San Francisco, and New York, her passion for social justice in healthcare continued to grow as she saw so many inequities both at home and abroad. This led her to study holistic nutrition in Berkeley, California, and start a nutrition practice in the Bay Area. Rachel worked as the Latina Program Coordinator with the Charlotte Maxwell Clinic in Oakland, CA, an incredible organization offering free complementary medical modalities to low income women with cancer. She went on to work as the Programs Director for Natural Doctors International in Nicaragua, a nonprofit clinic providing integrative medicine free of charge to the underserved communities of Ometepe, Nicaragua.
Now, Rachel resides on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, and is proud to have birthed her baby (along with her other two real-life babies), Salud Para Todos Caribe. In her free time (wait, what’s that?) Rachel loves singing, poorly playing the guitar, hanging out with her family, and complaining about how hot it is in the jungle. She holds a masters degree in global public health, with a focus on integrating natural medicine into a public health framework, and is working on a second master’s degree in clinical nutrition at the National University of Natural Medicine.
